Re: Arena and New Accounts!
The idea of a minimum number of games before Arena has some merit. I really don't think BGA goes to enough effort to randomize deals to cater to new players. I think a rule where the maximum difference in ELO is 100 might be a better approach although ultimately I think ELO is as much a reflection o...

Re: Permissibility of Using Multiple Accounts
On the other hand, there are many cases where no action is taken by BGA admins. For instance, I've noticed that it's a quite common (and some would say rather endearing) tradition in the Terra Mystica community for experienced players to create alternate accounts with humorous names to compete in e...

Possible Tweaks! Great game.
1. This doesn't apply to only this game but it would be good if the table allowed you to configure it counter-clockwise or clockwise for individuals. I find a lot of games of Asian origin go counter-clockwise but feel more comfortable playing clockwise. 2. If there is a line break in the hand it wou...

Re: CLASSIC COLLECTION 2: Games you may already know or not!
What I'd like to know is what the "& More!" references in the header? The header lists those 5 games, and then they list those 5 games below but nothing is said about the more part. There are many other classical games on bga, like checkers and chess, they are probably in the "mo...

So basically you think that the top 7 accounts in elo are cheating? I don't really look at the all time rankings much, but the top 10 in Arena last season ranged between 50% to 70% for their lifetime winning percentage. Which means it is fairly difficult winning more that 3 games in a row with dece...

Re: Could this be the highest Spades score in BGA history?
I like the basis of your analysis that it is only possible to tie once above 500. What if the last hand you describe was repeated twice, 499 vs 469 with a tie at 699, and then the same hand for 929 vs 899. Yep, that beats mine. You did the heavy lifting. It didn't occur to me you couldn't tie twice...

Re: Could this be the highest Spades score in BGA history?
I think I figured out the highest theoretical final score for a Spades game here. 889-859. How did I get that? It starts with the score being 499 to 498. Both teams then have one 6 bid and one nil bid and all bids are made. The team that started at 498 gets the bag, giving both teams a score of 659...

Lol~! Not sure if that can be described as a victory! A mercy killing might have been more humane.azcats2002 wrote: ↑14 January 2024, 19:06 Could this be the largest Spades victory in BGA history?

Re: Could this be the highest Spades score in BGA history?
Nice! It should be pretty easy for someone from BGA to answer. I put the top end around 729 or 230 above the tie which is pretty unlikely. It would be a nice stat to add to the profile just for fun. This was as close as I could find. https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=427393694 . My partner was ...

I am suspicous of anyone who wins over 80% of their games in Spades. So basically you think that the top 7 accounts in elo are cheating?
