I can't believe that none of the admins have done anything about this guy. He uses kiki45 and adeline45 and he had beaten them every single time until I posted last time when he finally threw 1 of the games. There was another thread about this but none of the admins ever commented. I submitted 4 reports but nothing happens. The admins jump right into a thread where someone curses someone in a game but why not here? I've been cursed many times on different sites by losers and I laugh at them. I can control to just ignore and laugh at them. I can't control a cheat, that is for the admins and that is what this is. I've talked to the top people in Hawaii and they say the moves made in those games are ridiculous. I've looked at Matt's games against kiki and adeline in The Boss where I am an expert and there is no doubt. It is so obvious that it is a joke. But did an admin ever contact me after 4 reports and posting in another thread? No!!! Why not??? And now he's using his same old trick in Libertalia where he's number 1. And the really funny thing is that the admins want people to pay to be able to see their ratings when the ratings are being cheated and they do nothing about it. Other sites I've been on whack these guys back to 1500 on everything and tell them not to do it again. They usually learn their lesson from that. Why is that not being done here? Can an admin give an answer?

Interesting read, thanks for posting this. Just out of curiousity, I replayed few games of Libertalia between Matt and Kiki. They ganged up on other players with Beggars, sabres and Monkeys, Kiki intentionally took worst booties if Matt had the possibility of taking dubloon booties, etc. I also looked at game between Matt and Adeline, and it got even more crazy: Adeline chose Gambler early on only to have him killed by Spanish Officer, took three chests, then immediately have Merchant sell them. It's pretty obvious that Kiki and Adeline gain ELO from other players and then give it to Matt, they don't even try to make it covert.

EDIT: I just realized I should have attached ID of the games mentioned, but it can be seen in virtually every game between Matt and his puppet accounts. If needed, I can look up the most ridiculous moves again.

Thank you for your reports. I have multiple answers:

• At first, I know that we (admins) should spend more time on analyzing reports. The thing is: this is unpleasant to do and we prefer to spend time on positive stuff. Sorry about this, we're human after all.
• Second: when I process reports, I made priorities. The first priorities are insults and aggressive behavior, because these reports are easy to process (a simple look at the chat log), because there's no risk of mistake, and because banish an insulting player has an immediate and very positive effect on the pleasure for all of you. In the opposite, multiple accounts and team play are way more difficult to analyze. This is why this can take a lot of reports and a long time.
• Third: finally, this is not really a problem that this take so long. Why? Because players who are using multiple accounts to increase their ELOs are stupid, and the more you're waiting, the more clue you're collecting. And at the end, you reset their ELO rank to 1500 anyway, so all their "efforts" are destroyed in a second.
• To conclude: your reports are not useless, thank you for this. I think for this case there's now enough material to have a look into it, and I already started to do this. But anyway: please don't put your finger on Matt until he's found guilty. If this is the case, I will also publish a news about this because this is totally useless to spend so many time increasing its ELO this way considering the final "reset".

This is so funny, it happened to me too when playing saboteur with players from SABS group. They are all weird and evil people.

I don't know Matt that well, but it seems clear in Libertalia he is using multiple accounts to win. As others pointed out, he only plays vs. Kiki and Adeline and wins virtually everytime by these players. I have played a lot of games of Libertalia so understand the game. It is clear if you watch replays they are just gifting Matt the wins by their booty and character selection. Souris could you please investigate and take action if necessary. I understand it is ia bit of work but you do not want your most prestigous player being a cheat.

I completely agree with The Kid's sentiments. It makes a mockery of the system and may also encourage others to do it as well. This could have serious harmful long term implications for the site. You need to send out a message and be strong for the benefit of the site. There are paying supporters who like to see ratings and would like the assurance that players and games are free and fair. Other online game sites, whether it is online gaming, casinos etc. are very strong on this kind of thing and do not hesitate to ban players who are sharing and/or cheating. I think a large number of us would appreciate swift action.

Thanks for reviving this topic, Max. I agree with you fully. I believe Een and Souris (are there others?) might have too much on their hand to get through these kinds of reports. But I don't understand how the official stance can be "let him have his reputation, we'll strike once we will have more evidence" (as per Souris's third point), when the evidence could be provided right now by experienced players of said games (I already offered to make detailed review, and Max and theKid seems to be willing to do so as well). Matt's username is among the first thing people see at this site, and it's kind of a shame that it's a name of a cheater.

The BGA wiki mentions Seraphs and Cherubs. I have never met one, but if they exist, why they don't take a look at it? It seriously doesn't take much time to discover if Matt's games are legitimate, if he is as overt with cheating as in Libertalia.

For now, Matt cannot play anymore, which does not mean that he did anything wrong. He has the right to give an explanation. If no explaination is given, the account will be closed forever.

So apparently he's allowed to play again. And with no penalty, so it's OK to cheat here. What a message to send to the players here. Would love to hear his and the admins reasons here, but let me guess like all of the other losers I've seen on other sites, it's his cousin, friend, etc.... What a joke.

Please respect our work and be patient. There is actually a reason why he can play again, and nobody said it will remain like this.

I will also close this thread cause obviously it cannot help us anymore and I really don't like the spirit of the posted messages...

And by the way, just some statistics:
kiki45 played 526 games, only 25 were played against Matt.
adeline45 played 1035, only 52 were played against Matt.

At this step of my investigation, I can't say for sure that there's no cheating, but what I can say for sure is that Matt is a very good player and the (possible) cheating cannot be the only explanation of his rank.
