Hello!
Currently Arena games of SSP are set as 3 players. While this has notable advantages (good balance between game speed and dynamics), it also has a disadvantage of only 1 participant out of 3 actually gaining Arena points (and another player losing them, in equal measure). Which means very small player pool actually advancing.
For remaining options (2 and 4 players) half of participants advance, which I see as marked improvement.
What would You say about change for next Arena season?
2 PLAYERS
Advantages:
- better Arena advancement dynamics
- much shorter games
Disadvantages:
- less pronounced game dynamics (both diplomacy and pluralities scoring are effectively simplified)
4 PLAYERS
Advantages:
- much better Arena advancement dynamics
Disadvantages:
- notably longer game length
