Ok. Tried it on normal difficulty this time and actually got a better score than on easy difficulty, beating the bot 170 to 116 points. https://boardgamearena.com/3/gaiaprojec ... =393120651

What a high-scoring start to the new challenge. Thank you all, as ever, for sharing your scores.

I like the 2 RL adjacent and all-round scoring.

Congratulations on you much higher score: although it scores more, the standard automa level usually provides more power charging (leech), for example.

It should be interesting to try a science approach as well, but then probably combined with gaiaforming (?).
Amazing! The 2RL start with the lab round booster gets you off to a great start (scoring for 2 TS and 2 RL). What stands out for me is the amount of power you spent on conversions (42, such as taking 1 ore for 3 power), maximising the Brainstone around a small number of power tokens.

Scores listed.

Here's a first try with science and gaiaforming - tough to get right but still a good score. Quite some potential for improvement here (e.g. scored only 9 vp for satellites final objective, didn't even take all printed gaias, and had to buy a useless tech without a step at the end). I still like the eco approach much better though. But Taklons are so insanely powerful that they can do almost any tactic and still score well...

kespie 232 vs 115 Automa - https://boardgamearena.com/5/gaiaprojec ... =393245683 - science, nav2, gaia

Update, slightly better try with same approach:
kespie 243 vs 116 Automa - https://boardgamearena.com/4/gaiaprojec ... =393751491 - science, nav2, gaia

I know you mean that tongue-in-cheek, but the score doesn't matter as long as everyone enjoys the game :D .

Yes, a good score and interesting to try. Am surprised you didn't win satellites, with all those tokens available :) .

Score lists updated.

djchadb 182 vs Automa 116 - https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=393596065 - started off slow, eventually went up on econ and nav, then terra and AI; 4 feds.

core mistake I made throughout the game was building placement and upgrades; I wasn't near the automa enough to benefit from charging like Taklons should (only spent -6VP on passive charging)
