An unbeatable strategy

Post by jeu2societe-twitch »

Hello everyone. I had an incredible game with 1 chanterelle from the start... which is therefore stronger than the deer + wolves. And the second part I had... 2 chanterelles from the start!! An incredible draw that wins against anything by just placing trees. I had the chance to film for those who want to see (sorry I'm French but even without sound it's funny). A stroke of luck that will never happen again.

You actually used two wolves and four deer in that game, so you were partly playing the usual deer + wolves strategy that people here talk about a lot. As I said in that thread about deer, I've had some very strong wins by focusing on trees, without playing any wolves at all, and usually only 2 or 3 red deer. It's not "unbeatable", but I do think focusing on trees is a strategy that's as good as deer+wolves. Anytime I get a chanterelle at the beginning, it's likely I'll go for trees. Having the amazing luck to start with two chanterelles is pretty unusual though.

Not sure if that strategy is unbeatable, really. It seems like the opponent's point total is rather low and with a slightly different focus/luck of draw on their end (e.g., more cards below trees rather than the two poorly scoring birds), the game would have been much closer or would have had a different outcome entirely.
