Короткая и красивая партия. Второй ход чёрных прекрасен.

A short and beautiful game. Black's second move is excellent.

The hole numbers are the same as everyone else's - next to the kalakh - hole 6.

16 - The first move from hole 1 hits the last stone in the pot, the second move from hole 6.

They didn't write their notation. My guess after looking at it for a bit was that they labelled sides 1-6, I'm partial to the number being minimum stone count it would take to do an extra move. The - would indicate a player shift, the new line would indicate a full turn for each player (I'm counting all plays made by the same player as a turn here). They didn't separate their digits, but I'm thinking the numbers clumped together are all 1 digit moves.

Personally, when I structured my games I ended up being partial to a letter format a-f. Multiple letters like that don't get read into a word as easily as digits get read as a big number. Also, I could use capitalization to separate players. This gave me more space if I ever wanted to organize games or openings. A player could read the title and know the moves if they were familiar with the basic structure, though they would need to know the starting board count ahead of time (4 stone, 6 stone, etc.)

I think this is the game which is being referred to-

Indeed a very interesting game. If you watch it you from my POV, you can see Trepiastok makes a "mistake" :) by letting me take his big 10 pile. But that mistake was actually calculated  . On the very next move, I am put in a difficult situation where no matter what I move one of my big piles will be gone.

This is a similar game, divergence on turn 4. But from the first three moves you can understand the principle of recording.

I saw the recording method that I propose already in 1971 in the Soviet magazine “Science and Life”.

It's surprising that after playing for many years, we have not yet agreed on a generally accepted notation.
