What is the name of the variant that allows you to place a card at the beginning of a row?

I just played a round of this game where I was the first to get three trios, but the game kept going. The next player then got three 7s and was declared the winner. Is there some new rule I don't know about?

I think I figured it out. It turns out I turned off 3 of 4 specialty options, but not the 4th one. Once I did that, I was able to play.

Do you have any suggestions as to why I haven't been able to start a game over the past 3 days? Prior to that, I could usually get a game going within minutes. But since Wednesday, it stays stuck in "Searching For Players" mode indefinitely. I've tried at all times of the day.

I recently changed my settings to block all of the specialty variants of this game, and now when I search for players it never finds any. Can someone advise me here? I really don't like the specialty versions, but if my settings are preventing me from playing at all, I will reconsider.

I figured popularity was a factor, but as I said sometimes the same games get me in really fast and other times I can't get in at all. How are you able to tell how many people are playing a specific game?

I'm not a premium member, so I understand it can take longer for a game to find players. However, with some games it varies to the extreme how long it takes.
