Re: Game in Progress page update

Why "fix" it if it ain't broken? 🤔 Because Progress! Let us race forward making things better (while the penultimate update killed off playing the next turn of a game before having to refresh the page) Let us add more choice! (Apart from to revert) Let us add a greater UI (While continuin...

Re: Firefox Problems

It also says "Bug Fixed" - but it's still happening. I wasn't sure if it was connected.

Firefox Problems

Not sure if this is a bug - so testing if there's anyone else involved.

Re: Triple-punishment after browser crash - ideas to mitigate punishment for tech issues

Attacking an idea or concept is fine, but hurling accusations because someone doesn't accept your view feels counterproductive. I don't believe there was an accusation The accusation, intended or otherwise, is that the poster was willfully ignorant (unwilling to accept what you want him to) or mali...

Re: Triple-punishment after browser crash - ideas to mitigate punishment for tech issues

I do not know if you are unwilling to accept this, or are determined to punish people. Either of which are unhelpful. Attacking an idea or concept is fine, but hurling accusations because someone doesn't accept your view feels counterproductive. I don't believe there was an accusation - I was under...

Re: Triple-punishment after browser crash - ideas to mitigate punishment for tech issues

Let's see if we can refocus the discussion. Refocusing the discussion to carry your point is known as sealioning. Assumption: willingly disconnecting from a game should be punished. BGA has long stated that their overriding goal is to have games finish by game mechanics, not by people quitting the ...

Re: Triple-punishment after browser crash - ideas to mitigate punishment for tech issues

One random computer failure - three games running - -10 +-20 + -20 = =-50 Karma Hm. The original post was talking about a real-time game, not 3 turn-based games. In which case the random computer failure has several hours to be fixed, not just a couple of minutes. Time limits are irrelevant if the ...

Re: Triple-punishment after browser crash - ideas to mitigate punishment for tech issues

Also, the argument seems to be "mitigatiing damage due to technical issues." So can we examine the damage? Loss of reputation: Easily gained back by finishing several short games. One random computer failure - three games running - -10 +-20 + -20 = =-50 Karma This sinks you well below gam...

Re: Triple-punishment after browser crash - ideas to mitigate punishment for tech issues

c) If the "probation timer" is triggered by expelling a player shortly after going into negativ time, it should be shorter by default. I've seen people on the brink of being expelled almost instantly when going into negative time. d) Just as there are people who abuse "dropping out&q...
