If you got the matching ressources the contract will gain a highlighted blue rectangular around it.

If you can't klick it you simply don't have the matching ressources.

Taking back moves is even part of the normal rules. As long as you don't pick up your dice you are allowed to take checkers back and forth even in tournaments (real money entries). Would be a very welcomed feature.
