My opinion is that the game has a learning curve, in which it doesn't matter how lucky you are, if your opponent has experience in the game, he will most likely win everytime. I see what you mean. I also thought the last corner to be strange in comparison to every other corner of any other track. The best path starts on the inside and ends on the outside of the corner. Not sure if it is bad design or just a different way to build the corners, though.
