You don't get this prompt in real-life, why should you get it here?

In real life you can say to your opponent: "Dude, I forgot to use an ability of this card, may I do this right now?"
And answer usually is: "Sure"

I'd be great to add warning message that appears at the end of your turn if you didn't use some cards ability.
