on my move yesterday 12/27 at 1:33 PM (US CST or 19:33 UCT), I had to discard a card when I had just 4 in my hand. But I have the university that lets you keep up to 5!?

What am I missing?

Yep! Not only was it not the start of the next round, we weren't even finished with the previous round. I missed that we were still at the breeding phase.

I got it now. It was actually the end, not the beginning, of a round, and "You must take an action" meant deciding whether to do a conversion (e.g. turn a veggie into food) or use a ruby, NOT using a dwarf to take an action. What I had to do was click on "Pass" then click "C...
