Jump in, it’ll be okay. It took a game to have any idea what I was doing. Just watch the linked how to play and read the summarized rules. Then just join a turn based game….read rules again as you play and try and make decisions. Go for it.

Paris Connection is on here. It was originally called SCNF back when it was just a Winsome Games cube rails release. It's different and even more focused/streamlined than CE, but it's also a good game.

On the one hand, you're correct, that this is a intrinsic problem with turn-based play. But what @jajasoon is mentioning is still a good solution in a positive direction.
