There are filters (green door if you're launching your games from the game pages) which let you set the Elo range of your opponents when searching for tables. Bear in mind that for some games, this can make it harder to find opponents.

Care to give examples? Obviously I know this is true. Especially on a site with 1400 games. I just want actual examples so I can understand what games people feel fall under this category. There are so many problems here at BGA with abandoned games, players being expelled, etc. This is all relatively new to me. On the various sites I played on back in the day, people didn't quit. They finished the games. And this was on sites where the only penalty for quitting or forfeiting on time ...

if you've lost interest in the game you can just make nonsense moves when it's your turn. That would be better than quitting. Maybe for you a game going indefinitely with a player that has left the site or a game continuing with an opponent making random moves would be better but I'd rather the gam...

Possible? Sure, most things are possible. Likely? I'd say no, given the complexity of the game and how much work it would be to program some kind of AI to understand all the various strategies and factors going on in a game of Ark Nova to outplay a human consistently.

You got a penalty for this game: https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=905729218 which you quit pretty early on. Given that very few moves were played and the game was ultimately abandoned by your opponent, I'm guessing you think the penalty was about another game - it wasn't.
