I guess you've been playing in pacific mode where one player actions (text at the bottom of some cards) are used instead of aggressive actions.

In this mode, determination is used instead of hypnosis.

You can set your preferences to be matched against players near your level. From the lobby, that's in Ark Nova > gear > adavanced.

I didn't looked at all games in your history, but it seems you're only playing with the prelude option. That's an alpha option and can only be played in friendly mode.

If you want to gain ELO points, join a non friendly/non prelude game.
