Re: 🌿ELO System Updates
I'm glad we're finally hearing back, but I'm not really happy with the explanation. In what way are you considering it a good thing for the elo penalty for repeatedly playing the same opponent? I've got to assume the BGA team sees it as a win because it reduces reports you have to review of people a...

Re: 🌿ELO System Updates
I didn't know that the system previously followed the principle that you should never lose elo in a game somebody else quits. Why was that principle abandoned?? It is clearly correct. Who knows, it's absolutely baffling. It was corrected years ago. Then they introduced arena, and you could lose are...

Re: The Great Quitting
Yes, regrettably there is a quitting issue for these longer games, and it's really annoying, but BGA has shown no sign of caring about making a change on this despite repeated asks from various individuals. Some great suggestions have been offered over the years. Some of my favorites include the fol...

Re: 🌿ELO System Updates
Was the issue ever corrected or did they just put a band aid on it? Sure not losing elo in a game you were on the final move of winning is great but actually getting elo for that game would be fixing that problem. I mean, as much as I'm on board with haranguing the BGA staff for not correcting obvi...

Re: 🌿ELO System Updates
It would be nice to know if, for example, they intended winning players to lose elo when a losing player quits / times out of a game. Or, if they could officially say "oops that was a bug, we plan to fix it eventually". That would also be nice. Right now it's in a weird limbo where I have...

Re: 🌿ELO System Updates
I'm still really annoyed by these changes and also want to see updates. I also think it's absurd to ask people to stop posting their thoughts and opinions in the feedback thread for these changes. As for the changes I'm still most annoyed by: 1) It's just an obvious bug that you can lose elo in mult...

Re: 🌿ELO System Updates
I too have still been watching this thread hoping for updates. It's wild to me that this hasn't been changed, the end effect is a worse user experience.

Re: “Theoretically perfect game” challenge
I also haven't bothered to calculate it out, but I'm not convinced that 3vp per turn is a good way to look at it, as I suspect I can come up with builds and situations where you'd happily give up 3vp for another turn but that doesn't feel realistic to a game. Something like 20 turns cap, and then th...

Re: Agricola (original version)
I don't think there is a way to play original edition online anymore. Well, that's not quite true. play-agricola still exists, but it's sort of like a Tabletop Simulator experience where there's no rules enforcement. The community on p-a is great though and it can be a fun way to get in games, altho...

Re: 🌿ELO System Updates
Yeah, I agree with others that based on what I and others have seen, it seems it did immediately count win streaks prior to the changes, but it does also seem like it only looks at the last 30 days or so. This is still an absurd system though since yes, you just shouldn't play players you have multi...
