Re: This game needs a confirmation command.

I usually play on my phone and have lost many games through an accidental screen touch while riding on the city bus down the busted streets of Baltimore. I like your idea, I think it would be a handy option that you should be able to toggle on or off.

Re: A Formal Check! Rule

After some recent discussions, I have had a change of heart. Onitama is a martial arts simulator, and in a real fight in a dojo or otherwise, no one declares "I'm attacking you". and blunders happen which lead to defeat on and off the board, so be it. Conclusion- pay more attention and fig...

Re: A Formal Check! Rule

Of course, this issue is larger than BGA, but I think playing on BGA more and more makes it feel more relevant. However as this is the only place to play this game online I think our community certainly has a voice and an influence over the future of board games, and if enough people agreed then we ...

Re: A Formal Check! Rule

The Persians (c. 700–800) introduced the idea of warning that the king was under attack (announcing check in modern terminology). This was done to avoid the early and accidental end of a game. Later the Persians added the additional rule that a king could not be moved into check or left in check. Do...

A Formal Check! Rule

One of the great things about Onitama is you have all of your cards on the table, literally. You can see every move your opponent could make and your opponent has all of the same information as you do. In this game you share information because it is not about being sneaky and hoping your opponent d...

Re: Picking our own cards...

I also think this is a good idea. I'm still a fairly new player but when my housemate and I were learning by playing each other several times a day, we also had the same idea to curate our games. Sometimes we would just select our own cards from the deck, or sometimes we might choose an interesting ...

Re: Onitama Duels

I try and do new videos every week, so go ahead and subscribe if you like what I'm doing. Also perhaps we can record some of our epic online BGA Battles and make more content. I find watching a good game can be a great way to level up one's skills. Open to suggestions. Let me know if you want to ste...

Onitama Duels, my Youtube channel

I am rather new to the Onitama community, but have fallen deeply in love with this game. I started recording some of the early matches between my housemate and I on a YouTube channel I created called Onitama Duels. No commentary, just sped up gameplay put to music with a few animations during key mo...
