Are you sure it's odd for them? There are players all over the world. Maybe they just live in a different time zone or have a different sleep schedule. I use the 24/day option all the time. I enjoy playing quick games and not making only one or two moves per day.

It would just mean "I prefer to play during this time and/or if you want the game to finish quicker, play during this time." But if people don't really mind a game taking longer, and if they assume their clock runs the same in that time as it does out of it, why bother honoring it?

Part of the issue is the site doesn't really explain "playing hours" well. I'd guess a lot of people don't realize time ONLY runs down during playing hours. I don't think that info is given anywhere on mobile and on desktop you only see it for a split second if you hover over a player's ho...
