Board Game Arena

When I upgraded my LAMA Faction, I couldn't select any blue tiles (and I clicked the pile to no avail), but I couldn't go back to the Farm/Blue selection in order to try and purchase a Farm. I had to pass the action, and so my faction upgrade didn't do anything for me. Is it a bug, or is it because ...

I think it's by design, just like the physical copy of the game, where you only calculate the planets score at the end of the game (thus the hourglass symbol both at the planet score and at the ship crash track below).
