If both cards have the same cubes, there is no tactic here, just luck. Thus , i don't think that choosing the same card should trigger a switch between the 1-2 priority cards

I'm not sure as well, If I recall correctly I was able to get points without the top one, but other times I didn't
Maybe you score points only if it's actually on the side (right/left) and not top/bottom?
