Re: Overall XP declines?

This may be a silly question, but how would that handle the situation of someone simply refusing to play (or getting sick and not logging on)? I assume letting someone hold a tournament hostage if they decided not to play would be very bad. You time them out, and the game goes on. But not all multi...

Re: Overall XP declines?

Agreed.

Ideally, with the advent of online implementations of multiplayer thematic strategy games, game designers would include rules mechanisms for dealing with such situations.

Re: Overall XP declines?

Or rather, no solution when N = number of players in a game and N > 2. I would set up and/or play a tournament in which all games are 2-player, and the number of entrants is a power of 2. 32 players, 5 rounds, one winner, no issues with people quitting or timing out; it would just be a loss and an a...

Re: Overall XP declines?

It is very bad (and I mentioned above this has very much been an issue before), so I'm also curious about the answer to your not silly question. Agreed; definitely not a silly question. I would take the obvious solution of having a turn timer just like a standard turn-based game. But what happens w...

Re: Can't open tables

I have also played with peaceful mode. What do you mean "dealbreaker"? Are you saying nobody joins the table? I thought you were saying that you're not even able to get the table created in the first place. it opens and after a while it closes while saying i should check some options. Som...

Re: wild idea - playing only sponsors and association

For anyone interested in this unusual variant: We just played one, and it worked reasonably well. Best done in friendly mode so either player can request a mulligan if the draft results in 2 animal action cards, or 1 animal action card and 2 of another type of cation card, because it wouldn't really...

Re: Can't open tables

I have no idea why this would happen. I've used various combinations of settings without issue. Primarily, Competitive level "Same map for all players" peaceful mode "disabled" map pack 1 "disabled" (we have a choice here. Which is annoying. ) Map pack 2 "Enabled&q...

Re: Overall XP declines?

You seem to be talking about 2 players tournaments. Those tournaments have no issue on BGA (at least not the specific ones brought up in this thread). The issue is "what to do when a game is multiplayer and it seems like the game will never end because someone stopped playing". Your examp...
