Training Ground scoring question

Hello, I have just finished a game and was wondering why I (blue) got 12 points for the training ground. I own 2 guards at the "Courtier x 2" location, and I have 4 Courtiers inside the castle. This should total 8 victory points, but for whatever reason, the game gave me 12 victory points....
