Re: Will we ever get a change in arena settings?

it's a competition game with a score, so how would competing for routes be a bad thing? to me that is what makes it great. 2 player original almost always comes down to who had the best initial draw; 4 player expansion usually comes down to who can be the most efficient.

Re: Curious about the 1910 expansion disabled

If you are fortunate enough to draw a 20 point card in the original your chances of winning increase exponentially; there are way more routes in the expansion, and way more ways to offset a poor initial draw in the expansion.

Re: Will we ever get a change in arena settings?

Best version of TTR is Mega game, 4 player. Less variance, less luck as you can offset initial crappy route draw by maximizing 'like routes'. TTR 2 player does introduce the choice of blocking vs. routes. 2 player original is quick and dirty, although too often initial draw determines outcome. I thi...

Curious about the 1910 expansion disabled

Been playing live TTR for years with the 1910 expansion. Started playing on here last year. Curious as to why the expansion pack disabled is the default and why so many players seem to play it over the expansion. Expansion greatly reduces variance, IMO.

Re: To nil or not to nil?

What are you doing with this hand? I'm just curious what other players would bid because I've seen some pretty strong opinions on what to do with a hand like this. Assume you're the first bidder :D https://ibb.co/gZ3b1MJ4 It's a nil bet if the spread of the score is ~60 -~150 in either direction, d...

Re: Is there a more toxic game than Spades?

The reason Spades is "toxic" is because unlike other games, Spades requires a partner. In most games it is 1 v 1 v 1 v 1 and if someone is a weaker player it doesnt matter. in Spades, many of the arena players do not play with the fundamentals of the game. so you will often have a stronge...

Re: Is there a more toxic game than Spades?

This game brings out the absolute worst in people. In my last game, my partner just tears into me at every opportunity, lecturing me on how to play, as though my top 15 Elo and 345 Elo indicate I don't know how to play ? As though his Elo being 15 points higher means he knows everything and I know ...

Re: Dogs: Keep It Within The Team Or Give It To Opposition?

every hand is unique, as is every stragtegy in trading cards. If my option is to potentially give a singleton to an opponent, and I am a long shot to T or support a partners T, I'll give to opponent. If I have a single A, Dr, or Ph, and the dog, I am keeping the dog and giving good card to partner. ...
