This inconsistency is a real problem and should be fixed. BGA's user interface is already problematic without simple things like this also being a problem.

Ease of use and consistency are important.

Is there a way to set up a league tournament where everybody plays each other once but every match isn't instantly required?

ie a mix of Round Robin where everyone plays everyone else and Swiss so that the first round of matches needs to be completed before the next round starts?
