Something is definitely wrong. I'm in the opposite boat. In Terraforming Mars, I can't get anything other than a friendly game. Even resetting game mode so that I should only be getting normal games, it resets and tries to get friendly games only.

Same, quit out of a game because it was making me sick having my cards and the board constantly bounce up and down. I don't think I'm playing again until this is reverted back.

I agree that luck adds a ton of variance to results and winning any individual game. However, I have a bit over 550 ELO at the time of this post (oh, it can swing big at times) and I would say you absolutely can partially mitigate luck with smart plays whether that's in the form of resource denial, ...

It's hard to get too worked up about it given the price, but at the same time it feels like this is becoming a regular issue which ultimately negatively impacts on experience. I don't know anything for certain, but I doubt restricting the free players is the answer. These service issues strike me as DDoS attacks and a total lack of infrastructure and preparedness to withstand them in the slightest.

Argument #1: Premium membership is a good value at roughly 10 cents per day.
Argument #2: Horrible service should not be rewarded with any monetary compensation whatsoever.
