Re: Questions about "Long game" and "Match play" options

3. A hand is the smallest complete unit, spanning from a deal to one player going out. I believe round = game in this context. It consists of several hands, until one player accumulates enough points (100 or 250). Games can be further stacked into a multi-game match. 1. A major difference is that a ...

Re: Doubling cube in tournaments

I googled that doubling cube rule. Google AI is not tremendously reliable, but here's what it had to say... "Yes, you can double again even if the current cube value is sufficient to win the match, as long as you have cube ownership. This is known as a redouble, and if the opponent drops, they...

Re: Blackout - my opponents got more points when they made bid compared to me

I wonder where you see this description... In options, when setting up a game, i see "Only exact bids score 10 + bid" In Rules summary, there is "Blackout gain 10 + [bid]" And that is indeed how the blackout works. If you bid x , an other player y , and you both succeed, you get ...

Re: "back" botton in tutorial

It cannot. Each individual game would need to be rewritten. While BGA writes the framework, individual games are written almost exclusively by volunteers and freelancers, not by BGA. A hug number of the developers aren't even around anymore. If BGA rewrote their framework, they'd need to dump their...

Re: "back" botton in tutorial

But rather to optimize the replay speed, so that the game can be instantly replayed out of sight to any move (let say under 1s). There is a somewhat hidden feature in the replayer to advance to a certain move number without displaying the individual moves. But it isn't instantaneous, and I think yo...

Re: Make Gurus more consistent

At the moment, many Tapestry veterans are unhappy with the Arena rules, namely the outdated, unbalanced version of Civilizations that is being used, as is being discussed in this thread . Some of those veterans - like me - are skipping out on the current Arena season because of that. Of course this...

Re: "back" botton in tutorial

I acknowledge it is a major framework change to suggest, but at the same it is a major deficiency and we can hope it gets implemented one day. As I see it, the solution is not to store all the game states. But rather to optimize the replay speed, so that the game can be instantly replayed out of sig...

Re: Make Gurus more consistent

It appears you haven't checked the FAQ : How to become a Game Guru? Your karma must be at least 90, and you must have been registered on Board Game Arena for at least one year. The players who played the most (ranked) games in the last 30 days will automatically become gurus. (limited to 100 players...

Re: Two generic optional rules I think many users would appreciate

To add another view: 1) Hide moves history Not a bad option. Memory can be a part of the game and browsing through the log can remove that. I sometimes check the last move (if I miss it in real time) or the last few moves, as they are visible on screen. But I consider the log just enough cumbersome ...
