I routinely will sit at a table, and then suddenly be removed from it. I don't think I'm being kicked as my rep is 100% and the tables usually have similar ELO.

And in the chat window it says "<my username> has left the table" as if I did it.

I've owned the 1910 expansion for 20 years and we've always played with longest route.

Is there a list of all the variations somewhere?

There's at least one variant that seems to not compute the longest route. It's a disappointment to spend the game getting a long connected route only to find out it didn't matter.

Blocking is one of many techniques in this game. At least in a 4-player game, similar to "just grabbing all the 6-point routes", you are unlikely to win by adopting a strategy of primarily blocking. But it's a tool in the toolbox. I've tried many strategies in my years of playing this game...

So many people seem to want to play "First 5" and "First 7 Round" games. The least interesting/most random/least skilled part of the game. I don't ever play those.

Why do people like to play this variant? The first 5 rounds are by far the most random/luck based. I've had many games where I've had terrible cards and had a negative score in the first 5 rounds, and came back and won the game, because once you start getting more cards, skill takes over.
