When you have the Sheriff, can the default be to place the Sheriff as the first meeple, with the option button to place a regular meeple? I am sure there is an edge case, but I am guessing that most of the time, the Sheriff will be placed first.

What expansions/optional rules do the options refer to? e.g. what is Extended?
