Re: New mobile UI

I adjusted from zoom level 7 before to 14 after and now it’s more or less the same.

Re: Friendly mode rules. Definitive rules

Friendly robber was recently introduced as an option. It follows the variant described in the rules and can be activated in set up.

Re: dice used in catan is biased

After the update, the dice rolls became so unpredictable that I don't understand how this is even possible? In one game, crazy spam 11 or 5, in another 3 or 4 plays more often than 6 and 8. That’s spam! When one of the players takes two identical adjacent numbers, he can win in 10 minutes. Please c...

Re: Remove ELO Visibility

The original Catan has no ELO, so why would you play against someone based on ELO? Yes, but if you’re playing against a friend who is good at the game and a friend that is bad at the game, wouldn’t your rob the good player at the beginning and there’s no other way to determine who is most likely to...

Re: Double Build progress

You could look at the game log and see if a development/world has been played right before.

Re: Who programmed the dice?

The sample space for 2d6 has 36 outcomes (11 distinct). The sample space for a shuffled deck of cards is 52!, which is significantly larger.

Re: Why only single tie breaker criteria?

Another way to think of it is that a draw is like 0.5 win and 0.5 loss. So, if you are 600 elo and opponent is 400, a win gains you 5 points and a loss costs you 15. One win and one draw is +5 -15 = -10. Half of that is -5. This example calculation backs up the intuitive explanations of previous pos...

vegasjj wrote: 14 May 2024, 21:32 Appears the dice totals equal 100 rolls to me- and with zero 8s. Very broken system indeed
The end game stats show the percentage of rolls that were each number, so they will add up to ~100. However, the number of rolls is lower, you can find that by adding up the # of turns for each player.

Re: Possible Knowledge Tile Bug in 2019 Edition?

It seems like it’s working as expected. You start with 2 workers. Place the yellow tile with die 6 on a 6, still have 2w. Then, use the die 3 to sell goods (4), spending one worker and gaining one from the yellow tile, this ending at 2.

It only gives one worker, not two.

Hope this helped.
