Re: Dragon's Lair -- your feelings?

Yes, this tactic seems almost the default strategy to go for. In all my recent games my opponent has gone for this card 1st turn. They are also willing to use Reanimate by using the gold. I totally understand the OP, the games are very dull and predictable. Not that it will ever happen, but I think ...

Re: Suggestion for graded scoring

Long story short, you still have a problem, hence this thread. AFAIK you still have the problem of 'shared placement' games where ELO is exchanged between same position players. https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=147942627 Maybe (I'm not the expert on ELO, and in the suggestion report linked ab...

Re: Suggestion for graded scoring

please consider that forcing your opinions on other people is not always well received. well it's at this point I give up, because to me I am merely making a suggestion to try and help improve the BGA framework. If that's taken as me being arrogant then I'm not going to continue trying. Long story ...

Re: Suggestion for graded scoring

Note: ELO has nothing to do with score only the final position of the players, nor should it. I've talked with Een a couple of times with lots of emails about this subject. The BGA reason behind this is, the numbers (1's and 0's) are the positional result of the players. BUT most games leave the sco...

Re: SQL help? It's only pulling unique rows when I want everything

You have the player_id twice in the select statement.

Personal preference, I would do this:

"SELECT pieces.player_id, pieces.* FROM..."

but do you need the join ? you normally always have the player array (especially JS side), you can just use that to get the player colour.

https://boardgamearena.com/preferences?section=email

There is no 'automatically send an invite to all my friends whenever I create a table', nor is there the ability to automatically receive them.

Re: SQL help? It's only pulling unique rows when I want everything

id must be the first field in the select, it makes the associated array with that as the key, or rather whatever the first field is. Yours currently is 'kind' and if you only have 1 kind.... Also as a tip, ditch all the renaming of fields unless you have to. Like previously suggested just change the...

Re: Best way to shotgun invites?

No email(s), if they did then that sounds like the biggest email spam alert ever.

It will appear in their list of 'Play Now' tables.

Re: Unfair rules at draw games

The problem is: Every beginner can play a draw against the very best in Mill's. Not always, but it does happen. The chess comparison is lame and does not show any knowledge of the game. And then there are the beginners for whom a tie is not enough and who do not accept the tie offer. Instead, they ...
