Picking up cards even when you have playable cards is part of the rules and a strategic option.

What is wrong with this strategy? Seems perfectly fair and legitimate to me. (Stockpiling cards, that is.)

So, getting back to the question I posed, why is it called "rigole"? Why not some slightly relevant word in English?

As much as 2nd, 3rd, etc., might seem like a nice change, I agree with the others who point out that this would be a house rule, which isn't the BGA way. Plus, even if it's not formally acknowledged, when you come in second you can still feel good about it. Who really cares if it's not official?
