Re: Abandon vs Concede in Arena

A few things that might hopefully be useful to others: - I did locate the "rules" in the Terms of Service, subsection Terms of Use - I also located the FAQ just above in the forum header - Both indicate to me that this behavior is against the spirit of the site - Given the response I recei...

Re: Abandon vs Concede in Arena

I'm pretty sure RobertBr meant "abusive" as in insulting or threatening in the chat, not as in using the option when it's not "fair". That's possible. I see no apparently necessary "about it" qualification in that case, though, as insults and threats are issues unto th...

Re: Abandon vs Concede in Arena

As with many other posters you came here wishing to have your own incorrect position validated. No, I didn't. It was a sincere question regarding a subject about which I was uncertain of correctness. As I am me, and you are not me, I have a better apprehension of my own intent. I dug up this thread...

Re: Abandon vs Concede in Arena

Why? Someone might have a legitimate reason for abandoning. Please review the first sentence of the OP (emphasis mine): " In a 2-player Arena game a player proposed to collectively abandon the game with only 2 cards to go rather than conceding. " That is why. My opponent in a 2P game prop...

Re: Suggestion: show reserved cards

cosmobozo wrote: 21 April 2024, 20:40 To keep the spirit of the rules, wouldn't it be best to simply change the log, so that it doesn't show information about the reserved card?
This will grant a large advantage to note-takers. Right now it's balanced, but delays the game.

Re: Suggestion: show reserved cards

The rules state: "You cannot have more than 3 reserved cards. Keep your reserved cards secret from your opponent (either facedown in front of you, or in your hand). You may look at your reserved cards at any time." That is meaningful in a face to face game during which a person needs exce...

Suggestion: show reserved cards

It's hidden trackable information. Players can re/gain the information by plowing through the game log, so the only apparent function of "hiding" it seems to be the inconveniencing of both players. If someone doesn't for the sake of play speed politeness, an opponent who does is at an adva...

Re: Does BGA have a family membership?

I thought the only restrictions for non-premium members was that they couldn't open a table. They can join ANY table, just not be the creator of the table. Am I wrong? That's my understanding too. But the thing is, I'm currently the only one that plays games with anyone *other* than family members....

Re: Does BGA have a family membership?

Yeah, my context is a family including kids, in the same home / IP address, all of whom almost exclusively play games with each other. I'm open to a larger contribution, but I'd rather not pay 4x the price for the slight convenience of kid-to-kid initiated games.
