Re: I am so annoyed by this 3 points robber thing

I was just expelled from the game after I refused to continue when people played monopoly and stole everything from me on the first move. And I was the bad guy to refuse to continue this. The monopoly must be enforced for the friendly robber rule to really make sense. Otherwise, it's just meaningle...

Re: why do moderators allow harassment in this game?

Playing 25-50 Hanabi games is fast. Sometimes you wouldn't even notice the karma penalty because you play so many games each day.

Re: Bad Players are Frustrating

Catan is a gateway game. Lots of randomness. Don't play it as a competitive strategic game. There are other much better games. Explore them and find something that you like more.

Re: Trading time should be part of the active player's turn

And then fully competitive players would never reject offers anymore. This kind of thinking is what makes Catan toxic. You leverage the platform's system against your opponents rather than playing by the game mechanics. It never happened on a different platform 10 years ago. No-one ever ran out the...

Re: Bug found in hanabi, please upvote

Hmm... It doesn't really matter, but I would prefer it if the deck was actually shuffled. I don't want to know what would have happened if I hadn't put that useless card in the deck :D Same. If the rules say shuffle then shuffle properly. Between 2 and 40 cards it's quite a cheap operation. Maybe t...

Re: Eliminating the "Friendly Robber" Rule

Every online Catan community from recent times has turned toxic. It's not really the matter of the game mode. I'd say that elo is to blame for the most part. If you have a metric that defines that someone is better than the others, people will start taking it too seriously. This is also one of the r...

Re: New lobby (integrated to game page)

Every time I open the old lobby it now FORCES me to select what game mode I want to play. Have to do 6 clicks every time. Simple game/arena/tournament Real time / turn based Friends/automatic/manual Seriously horrible UX. Who comes up with these stupid ideas? Keep this selection in the memory and ne...

Re: STOP giving Red Thumbs Masters

I generally RT everyone who intentionally bombs games or who quits instead of playing through or who are clearly is not willing to learn to be better at the game. Somehow that's a lot of "master" players. There should be another elo bracket for better skilled players than 700-900 elo.

Re: 💫 Welcome to the new BGA Homepage!

We hope you will get used to it quickly, and that new habits will replace old ones - slowly but surely. This is the perfect example of the Seymore Skinner meme "Am I out of touch? No, it's the users that are wrong." After the horrible elo changes and the continued https://en.wikipedia.org...

Re: Who programmed the dice?

It is ludicrous to state to a disgruntled player that he or she has faith in probability or in the BGA. It is wrong from a mathematical, computer science, and business standpoint. As I have said many times, the BGA should do what every developer does. Just improve the quality of the game, constantl...
