Board Game Arena

This game makes no sense to me. There are over 100 characters to choose from. I've never played before -- what do I do? The characters do not appear to be sorted in any meaningful way, so even if I knew which character I wanted, it takes forever to hover over each one to see if it's the one I want. ...

Thanks. Are these cards available view viewing anywhere? The manual doesn't list them, so I have no idea how end-game scoring is calculated.

At the end of the game, the final scoring included this line:

Points: card effects 8 -4

Why did I lose 4 points? What are the "card effects"?

I choose to play only fast turn-based games, but I frequently come across players who don't respect the time requirements. I know I could quit the game, but the penalty to the out-of-time player doesn't appear to be much of a deterrent. Almost all of them still have 100% reputation, which seems wron...
