New option for tournaments

In the current formats, you do not meet the same player two times in the "swiss" system. I think also the Monrad system should be added. You all the time meet the player with the closest position to you. This means two players can meet more than one time. I see no problem with this. The on...

Equal score = lost

I feel that equal score in Battle of LITS should result in a draw. Some would say that it's possible to use this calculation as a "skill" to win. I don't agree.

Swiss: Number of matches

We had a Carcassonne tournament with 50 participants. Using the Swiss system, and only 5 matches. Two players had 5 wins 0 losses, and 8 players(!!) had 4 wins 1 loss. My point is: With 50 participants 5 matches are too little using the swiss system. At least 6 matches and rather 7 to establish a to...

Re: Takenoko option for rule variant

Lucky or unlucky draws from the draw piles often decides a match in Takenoko. However, the knowledge about which objective cards most likely remain in the decks, and which decks the opponents have drawn from, are one of the most important "skills" in the current version. Allowing the basic...

Questions regarding two BGA rules

Two of the rules of BGA: "Kingmaking: enabling another player to win on purpose while there is a better move to make for yourself." My comment: Well... bad play can look like kingmaking? It can be hard to "prove" this? "Creating multiple accounts and playing against oneself....

Re: Citizenship

It's not an important issue. However I feel that if a person should list his citizenship/s in his profile. The word "should" does not belong in that sentence, but I'll let it go if you're not a native English speaker. Why "should" I list that? That's for people to decide for the...

Re: Citizenship

i would disagree to this. For me its more important to see where my opponent is living to know about his time zone and to know when i can expect him to make moves and when he is probably sleeping/working Yes, I agree on that the country the person currently lives in should be listed in profile. How...

Citizenship

It's not an important issue. However I feel that if a person should list his citizenship/s in his profile. The country the person currently lives in are not so important as the citizenships. This is a competitive site (named "arena") and when I look at the rating lists I want to see HOW ma...

Re: Timer in Tournaments

I'm not twisting things, just trying to set them straight. You suggested the timer be stopped from 00:00 to 06:00 for each player, then say that this is 3 hours. I'm asking for clarification. ??? I said preferably 6 hours stop at nighttime for player. But at least 3 hours, if you dont understand ge...
