This should only affect the group wall posts and only if a group member posts to it. If a group admin makes a wall post it will remain private unless a group member posts to it I just tested this, and it is correct. About 99% of conversations in a private group are made public. ONLY an admin's post...

Not only can I read everything your private group said, but I can post a reply on every thread. Just like I'm in the group.
