Re: Arena & default should be with flying option!

Simply as the title says, with the flying option the game is much more diverse and interesting, and it‘s also the original/official rules. Therefore this setting should be given as default (to promote it more to the players, many newcomers actually assume it‘s there anyway and then wonder why it is...

Re: Unfair rules at draw games

And even if a tie happens in football, both of the teams gets 1 point. Otherwise you might as well say, that the weaker team won 1-1! In football we have the league system or cups which are totally different to the rating done on BGA. Both Elo and EAS are thought of as skill ratings and if you tie ...

Re: Unfair rules at draw games

Tied games are impossible in most board games. And those in which it is possible, usually has many tiebreakers.

Re: Unfair rules at draw games

Reposting this in this thread (where it initially should have gone, got confused by the same topic in various places) Referring to Nine Men‘s Morris too, I strongly agree that draws should not lead to a point loss for the player with higher ELO! OP said everything relevant, it’s just wrong as it is...

Re: Unfair rules at draw games

If I am expected to beat you 90% of the time, and I don't beat you (you actually tie me), doesn't that mean you are playing better than me for that game? If the league champions play to a draw against a team in the relegation zone, the analysis will be about how well the lower team did or how poorl...

Unfair rules at draw games

What I don't get about draws, is that it isn't actually a tie, since the weak player of the two gets points, while the strong player loses points. In other words; the weak player actually benefits from a game, where there is no winner! While the strong player get's punished, by simple being better. ...
