Re: Too much knifing

Thanks Joel. Another thing worth considering for the future is to break up the Ring of Threes a little, by adding either twos or fours or both. Then, if the outer ring is made strong enough, the difference between wrapping strategies and knifing strategies could be made more dramatic, possibly. Not ...

Re: Too much knifing

Here's a recent, close game between the two highest-ranked players . There's a fairly strong wrap-ishness to the winner's pattern. One thing I'd still like to see more of however, is a touch more early use of the outer ring at the highest level play. That could suggest the outer ring needs more adj...

One nice thing about the game is that too much knifing can be fixed either by putting larger numbers around the outer rings, or by reducing number variety around the outer rings (or by doing the reverse of those things on the inner rings). However, my experience is like Joel's (Joel is the #1 player...

Adjustment to the hexhex6 randomized boards

Hi Strands Players, we've just made an adjustment to the randomized hexhex6 board. Specifically, we changed the outermost ring to an equal number of 4's and 5's, as opposed to an equal number of 4's, 5's, and 6's. The idea is to give the ring more "wraparound power", so as to make it more ...

Seeking dev for easy-to-program game, designed with help from AI. Full specs and assets inside.

Hi, I'm a professional game maker seeking to pay someone to implement an easy-to-do game on BGA. It was designed with help from artificial intelligence and I want to put it on BGA to see how the AI did. Here's a testimonial about it from designer Emerson Matsuuchi (designer of Century: Spice Road): ...

Re: Precision about rule Bug unable to grow after eating

Hey. Thanks for asking. This is covered in the eating rule: "All your bugs which are adjacent to one or more enemy bugs of the same shape (but not necessarily the same orientation) must eat (capture) those enemy bugs."

Re: Coordinates

Reasons both the coordinates and the last-move-highlighting default to off: 1) I'm a minimalist to a fault: this is the main reason coordinates are off. the board feels calmer to me that way. 2) This is a testing ground for responses to the game to help me to decide whether to publish it physically....
