concurrent travel ?
Would it be possible to implement a mode where all players travel concurrently during the last phase of each round ? Obviously trying to do so on the real board would be rather chaotic, but with a digital implementation, it ought to be possible. Maybe when you're playing at a very high level, you mo...

bandwidth issues affecting only one player ?
Hi, there probably isn't an answer to this, but I'll try anyway... a group of us (in the UK) plays most Sunday afternoons. We have a concurrent video chat (using an external system, to reduce load on BGA). One specific user seems to have a lot of trouble remaining connected to BGA most weeks, but th...

Re: Player blocking when you don't hate them!
When you create a table, you can restrict it based on the player's strength, so you could exclude masters / experts / strong players / whatever.

Does BGA over-share with friends ?
Apologies if this has been discussed before... I don't have expectations of full privacy here, but I'm starting to feel that BGA is too eager to share activity with friends. The problem might be that I have several unconnected groups of friends : family forms one set; our local gaming group forms an...

"see the game in action" demo ends prematurely
The demo game only gets as far as placing a couple of the starting tiles, then vanishes. (Switches to turn-based ?) Could we have a complete game, please ?

Re: Chatting in BGA Groups
Not sure what you mean about penalties for chat and message. Unless you mean if you use words which it thinks are swear words ?
There are some bug reports about lack of privacy with private groups. Eg https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=5791

should handicap games count towards ELO ratings ?
If I play a handicap game against a weaker player, it is entirely possible that I will lose - the point of the handicap system is to make it a "fair" game, and given that it can be hard to guess the correct handicap, losing against a lower-ranked player is likely. I don't care terribly muc...

Re: Is there a URL I can use to see if any games are waiting for me
Thanks both - I'll try those out. Is there any documentation for all the qualifiers that can go onto urls ? (Or if source code is available, I can have a look for myself.) I have an over-complicated setup, and run different browser instances for different activities. (Keeping work, online banking, a...

Re: Is there a URL I can use to see if any games are waiting for me
yes, possibly - I'll have to wait for it to be my move to see what sort of output it generates. But there's a lot of unnecessary javascript in there - it contains all the stuff to start a new game, which increases the load on the server. The ideal would be a simple static page with no javascript - h...

Is there a URL I can use to see if any games are waiting for me
Hi, just wondering if there's a URL I can use with curl to find out if any games are waiting for me, without having to start browser and log in. Yes, I know it sends me an email, but I don't check that all that often either. (Yes, I'm a luddite...) I found that I can open https://en.boardgamearena.c...
