I was giving it one more season, but just canceled my premium membership. The guru system is too opaque and unresponsive. If they are not interested in providing a premium experience, I'm not paying them more money.

It's obviously a typo for "trend". They don't follow the trend

Playing through the game is a common board game etiquette thing. Just play it through and try your best. You will find that you can learn much more when playing in tight situations. A lot of players are excruciatingly slow. It would be nice to be able to filter tables by "average turn time" like karma. It's fine that some players need a couple minutes to decide to build a road or not. But I don't want to play with them
