Top player's ELO dropped to 0?

In a game I recently discovered and am having fun with, the world number 1 player suddenly dropped out of the top 10 in a very noncompetitive scene. I was curious so I checked their profile, and it now says their ELO is 0? What does this mean and why did it happen? Is it something I need to be wary ...
