The scoring system is nothing revolutionary so it is obviously a publishing reason. It's a shame but they probably want you to get a dose of the game then go buy a copy to play this variant!

When in play, if you reveal 2 cards and one is a mermaid, both cards will appear as mermaids. Will you pick the correct card or be lured to the hidden rocks below?

I had the same bug. I drew 2 mermaids but when I picked one, both cards transformed into something else. At least I'm not going crazy

We only have 5 in our run also. I presume six will be in the autumn update and seven in the winter update but unconfirmed

Off topic, but why doesn’t Arena matchmaking have a limit on AES difference in matchmaking? I heard the ratings difference in Ark Nova is so extreme that top players have to resort to mass red thumbing weak players to avoid time wasting matchups with no reward and huge risk.
