Re: People who insult don't get real punishment

First, thank you very much for not naming the offending player. Any forum post of "Player XXXXXxxXX called me a _____ and nothing was done about it" immediately lose respect for the poster. Now, as to the complaint: Unfortunately, not everyone knows the language-dependent insults. It may take some t...

Re: How to advance in this game?

I'm no expert, but from what I've seen to advance you need to start playing the game as a whole, not as just your part. What I mean by that is try to anticipate what the next player will do, and plan your move accordingly. Let's say that you don't have any goods. You might think that taking Craftsma...

We cannot answer here ... because it frequently implies several questions / answers (as you can see).
This is precisely why it should be answered here. The more people who understand the system and can give feedback, the fewer flaws it will have.

Favorite rule

Do you have a favorite rule in a board game? Not necessarily something directly related to game play, just a great bit in the instruction book? My favorite is from Dungeon Petz. Before moving pets from the lower half to the upper half, discard all pets in the upper half . They are removed from the g...

Re: Funniest situations in games

Not on this site, but my favorite of all time was when I was playing Word on the Street with my nephews. For those unfamiliar with the game, it is a team vs team tug-of-war with letters. A category is revealed, and one team must spell a word that fits the category, pulling letters to their side as t...

Re: Reduce "You cannot make another post so soon after your last."

Not even needed for premium members -- just have some sort of vetting process. I understand the desire for it, to stop spambots. However, it shouldn't be that hard to add code that says something like: If posts_made < 20 delay_time = xxxx else delay_time = yy People who have demonstrated their abili...

Re: Do you participate in crowfunding campaigns?

I rarely buy a game before playing it, which cuts out most Kickstarter and crowdfunded games. The only time I remember buying a Kickstarter version was when I wanted a copy of a game, but the old version had been discontinued and they were putting the new version on Kickstarter.
