As I understand it, the purpose of that "consecutive victories" rule is to limit the ability of players to grind ELO against the same opponents. The style of the game makes no difference.

While its not the most intuitive, I never had any issue with it. If I look at your last game from your perspective, I can buy and use the port in all legal ways I can think of. I even get suggested to use it when trying to buy for more than the money available: "Buy 2 Cheese for 12 each? 20-24 ...

Oh and regarding the ipad, you might run into issues if you have a narrow screen, I'm not sure what resolution you're playing with but it's probably going to work better in landscape mode.

I wouldn't recommend the tutorial to learn the game rules, it's probably better to watch the official how to play video (which goes a bit fast) then if you want to familiarize yourself with the user interface you can play a solo game, which is mechanically similar to a multiplayer game.
