Board Game Arena

So I just took delivery of a brand new iPad running the latest operating system. There is no in game sound. Surely this is normal? The site states that it is compatible with tablets but does this mean only in terms of animation etc? Can anybody at all clarify how the site interacts with iPads?

My wife is the OP. At least we know there's somebody else out there with the same problem! Both the ipads in our house are about 5 years old but running ios13 if that makes any difference at all. There must be huge numbers of people using boardgamearena on ipad. Can anybody offer any suggestions for...
