Switching game from time to turn based in the middle?

I was playing in a game of Space Base (time based) just now. One player looked to be close to running out of time and suddenly the game switched over to turn based. Are players able to do that? Is it a bug or a hack? I've never seen it before.

Anyone experienced this (bug?) Ghost game?

A few days ago I looked at QG to see how it works. I didn't start a game or invite anyone to play. This morning I got an email from BGA saying it was my turn in a game of QG. Logging in sure enough I was in a solo turn based game of QG that started 30 minutes ago. Anyone else ever experience this? D...
