Is First Player Determined Randomly Or By Algorithm?

Does anyone know if the first player is determined randomly, by some algorithm, or some other method? I mainly play 2-player, generally stay above ELO 300, and have played over 600 games. It seems that I am first player (2-player game) only about 1/3 of the time. I checked the last 50 or so games an...

I really hope there is no plan to update the 'PLAY NOW' section to the "updated" version... I can put up with the new 'GAMES' section for a little while to add interesting games. The new tweaks have improved things marginally, but overall it is still a visual nightmare. The 'PLAY NOW' sect...

I agree with the above comments... very visually busy & hard to quickly scan games. I much prefer a picture of the game box with the name above or below, like it used to be.
