Yup, we just experienced the same. As if this game is not stressful enough as it is without a broken timer.

Are "random" scenarios completely random, or does it randomly pick from the ~35 built-in scenarios?

My interpretation is that it's the number of rolls where you stop before you fail.

I concur.. while you can probably get used to it, I too would like to see a convenient way to make the board a little bigger. Maybe full-screen option that removes the statuses on the right or somehow makes it an overlay or slide-out that you can optionally expand/view.
