Idea/Option: Allow time for chat before cards are revealed

I've gotten and given quite a few red thumbs on this site over the 'let's not discuss strategy in chat while the hidden-info game is underway' issue. And in most cases it's pretty clear-cut to me - making comments about what's going on can reveal things about what you see and know, which defeats the...

Re: 2024 Azul World Championship tournament 🏆

I've never participated in a tournament on BGA before, and am confused about how exactly they work. My online hours are unconventional to my timezone (11pm-7am EST most often). Beginning to play games starting at 2pm my local time would be impossible for me. The announcement post says: Playing hours...

Re: why is there so many rude players here?

I'm not sure if the moderators either changed or are following some new moderating guidelines or now have Hanabi experience or what, but the last person I reported for bombing did get a karma penalty. That's interesting news, thank you for sharing! I'm still not sure how it could be enforced with p...

Re: why is there so many rude players here?

* No lying on bluffs (unless you plan on correcting the clue later before it bombs) This one is interesting to me because on occasion I have lied on bluffs, with the full awareness that it's my responsibility to correct it later if need be and full intention of doing so, and have gotten yelled at b...

Re: Being able to abandon games

Now there feels like there is pressure to take games to completion. People don't want to abandon, which means you get stuck in games which aren't really what anyone wants to be playing. You never need to take a karma hit to unilaterally 'abandon' a game you're not enjoying, even if there isn't agre...

Re: Being able to abandon games

- I'm not a fan of holding people hostage in a game if they aren't having fun. If someone is strongly pushing to abandon and it's not purely an elo-saving situation, I'm typically willing to acquiesce. Here is where I part strongly from the no-abandon group because I think that many people there ha...

Re: Looking for other quiet players

What I really don't like is chatting about the game during the game. Things like "why didn't you let me bluff that", "???", or "sorry, I misinterpreted the red clue" may look harmless enough, but they do give information that should not be given in chat (and worse, in ...

Re: Event Cards

Similarly, the physical Dispatcher and Airlift cards stress that you need another player's permission before moving their pawn. I've only played a couple of times so far, but from what I can tell that hasn't carried over.

Re: Put 'Perfect or quit' in table notes

What is with people and Hanabi on here? Like.....it's a game. Play the game. Calm down Francis. What game is fun if you crush it every time? I've basically decided to stop chatting in Hanabi cause some "expert" always has to point out the flaws in my game. ITS A GAME. FOR NOTHING. What ga...

Re: Put 'Perfect or quit' in table notes

Just make it a game mode - all or nothing. All I want to do is play Hanabi to completion, but I have no interest in playing an imperfect game (although it might not be fair when there are un-winnable decks). It’s boring and it loses my interest and in a co-op game, I don’t think the person that wan...
