I agree Fakirs can still be played, they just don't do as well. Regardless it appears to be that arena will alternate between landscapes and no landscapes each season which I think is a nice compromise for those who are fans of either side. What I really wish is that we'd see them switch up the map...

It does work like you think. When you use one spade on the first tile, there will then be an opportunity to use the other spade on another tile.
